Changes to generic metadata interface Github

This is an update related to the work around the ‘generic ETL generation metadata interface’ as mentioned in this post and this one also. Work has been steadily progressing, and the number of interested parties has been growing.

The JSON schema definition has been revised a number of times, and this week I’m working to ensure everything works again with the available samples (i.e. handlebars, class model).

One of my colleagues (Scott Diprose) has pointed to a schema definition he has created on Github as well, and after aligning the models we found that they were pretty similar – but that there were a few nice touches that I’ve since added to the WIP schema I have been working on.

To make sure these repositories are ‘linked’ I have forked Scott’s repository and have moved the various developed artefacts to this new fork. As a result, the repository we were using (ETL Generation Metadata Interface) has been dropped and re-created (as a fork), but also including the content that was in development.

I have copied the comments, ideas etc. with mention of the original person that raised the topic. However, as a new repository all ‘watches’ and ‘favourites’ from the old one are lost. If you want to stay up to date please add the new repository to your list of alerts.

The new Github repository is now called ‘Data Warehouse Automation Metadata Interface‘. This is a public repository so feel free to discuss, fork and/or contribute otherwise.
